Violet (Age group 6-8)

Purple is my friend.
We are known for royalty and majesty.
Robe color of Virgin Mary;
Artist used me in prehistoric caves.
Church used me as symbol of humility;
And symbol of vanity by fine artists.
Sea-shell urchin is deep purple.
The bird, violet starling lives in Africa.
And poet calls me the symbol of ambiguity.
Reading this poem, violet is ambivalent.
