Artist (All age groups)

Radiates the energy,
Receive the signals and,
Reflect them like a rainbow.
At times a short distance antenna;
Other times a long-distance radar,
You change our directions,
We paint new emotions.
You name them artists, then-
Who is not an artist ?

A painting, Music, Literature and Cinema (All age groups)

Art of visuals entertains you.
It touches you and makes you think.
Art of sound whispers words in your ears.
The touching words stop you to reflect.
Literature writes all three magics-
In the pondering and wandering minds.
The visuals, sounds, and the words
Recreates all shades of life;
The art of cinema explores all.

Words Garland (Age group 13-17) Romanticism

They are my flowers,
Inspired from your smell.
Threaded words into Garlands,
Made only for you.

Like the rivers shine the stones,
Like the rivers embrace the banks,
Words are flowing only for you.
Touch the river; feel the flow.

It never stops. Turns into blood.
Flows through your vein, touch your vein,
You feel it, it is my blood.
It is my love.

Dance of fire (Age group 13-17 ) Romanticism

You have a reason to play with fire.
It’s not fire’s choice.
No rain can stop this fire.
No fire can stop your rain.
It’s from earth’s core.
Gruesome battle of your womb
Words flow through your ladle like cradle
Wind anyway blows it up;
Winter makes love with dancing flame.
He dances in all seasons.
You are the season;
And you are the reason.

Plastic (Age group 10-13)

Roasted faces, tired glances.
Elastic faces, no shining gazes.
No loving faces. kill the plastic love.
Lasting love was never plastic.
And the lasting smile never fades.
Rustic love and the older wine,
Swirls of sweet foam;
Tops the cuddle. Kill the plastic love.

Artificial Intelligence (Age group 5-6)

Tell me, what you want to do,
Tell me, what you want to see,
You want to cook, touch me.
You want to eat, press me.

Tell me, what you want to do,
Tell me, what you want to see,
You want a helper, touch me.
You want a driver, press me.

Tell me, what you want to do,
Tell me, what you want to see,
You want to survey, touch me.
You want the security, press me.

Seven (Age Group 7-8)

Seven is prime.
Learning the sounds in seven.
VIBGYOR counts seven.
Fiddling the strings gently,
Seven sounds the music.
Seven rhymes heaven.
When the sky is still dark,
Sun shines behind the raining clouds,
Seven colours paint the arc of queen.
The arc of rainbow; seven is prime.

Diamond Mirror (Age group 10-11)

You are the diamond; you are the mirror
I see the worker; I see the doctor.
At times the lawyer; at times the teacher.
I see the actor; I see the writer.

You are the diamond; you are the mirror
I see the police; I see the potter.
At times the broker; at times the vendor.
I see the craftsman; I see the draftsman.

You are the diamond; you are the mirror.
I see the warden; I see the cuisinier.
At times the sportsman; at times the artist.
I see the pharmacist; I see the receptionist.

You are the diamond; you are the mirror.
I see my man; I see woman.
At times the scientist; at times the humanist.
I see my man; I see woman.

Hummingbirds (Age group 6-9)

We make the sound of humming.
Flapping the wings like a music organ.
With chirps, squeaks, whistles and buzzes;
We sing a song to eat the insects.
Whirling our flaps in the shape of eight;
We fly backwards, no birds compete.
Hovering like a helicopter,
A twist to the right, a twist to the left,
No bird matches our fly-dance tricks.

Politics (Age group 13-15)

Is a poem about you.
You mean, You and I.
You and I mean we.
We means the village.
Village, Downtown, City and the State.
Story of village is the story of human;
From the forest to city; story of animals.
Of sovereign states, of Free Nations;
Of United Nations, of mother nature;
Right to live, right to learn;
And right to express;
Utterance of humanity, the best of politics.

Random (Age Group 16-19)

My Name is Random.
Random move is divine.
You can’t predict my occurrence.
With cold and cough; sneezing is deterministic.

Unknown particles flown to the noses,
Particles in the nose,
Not knowing the beginning nor the end;
Particle sneezing is non-deterministic.

Sans cold and fever, I sneezed;
Unknown about next sneeze.
My sneeze is a random throw.

Uncertainty principle of Heinsberg,
And the darling of Chaos theory.
A virus laughing at one side of the world;
Causes tornado on the other side.
I am the logic of unbreakable password.
My name is Random.

[Note: When I spontaneously remembered my college physics classes, from vague memory.]

Green (Age group 6-10)

The symbol of nature,
Chlorophyll absorbs blue and red.
Leaves swallow energy from light,
And reflected green.
I am the costume of Mona Lisa,
Benches of house of commons,
Irresistible gemstone emerald,
I am the colour of hope.

Red (Age group 6-10)

Cherry reflects red
Colour of Passion and Heat
Colour of love and joy
Faster than blue and violet
In anger, red is blood
Colour of courage and sacrifice
Revolution movements in red
And the romantic St. Valentine’s Love.

Violet (Age group 6-8)

Purple is my friend.
We are known for royalty and majesty.
Robe color of Virgin Mary;
Artist used me in prehistoric caves.
Church used me as symbol of humility;
And symbol of vanity by fine artists.
Sea-shell urchin is deep purple.
The bird, violet starling lives in Africa.
And poet calls me the symbol of ambiguity.
Reading this poem, violet is ambivalent.

Violin (Age group 13-16)

Violin is like a beauty queen.
Hello men, she is not easy to learn.
Tuning is the first step.
Fine tuning is the second step.

Learn one string after the other;
You be a bow in the right place,
She can laugh and cry,
In pleasure and pain.

Her sound is of goddess;
Among all instruments.
Bowing right, she sings the song-
Of elation and ecstasy.

Needle (Age group 5-7)

I am thin and sharp.
You hate me for my sharpness;
Taylor loves my sharp-end,
Crafts on the fabric,
Paint brush of the seamstress,
You hate me for my sharpness;
But cures you with an injection,
By plugging into a syringe.
Helps blood In and push blood out.
I am what I am.
I am thin and Sharp.

The Penguin (Age group 5-8)

We can’t fly, we can’t fly,
We are not the flying birds.
We are the beauty queens,
Marching like the army men.
Ducking Walk, Ducking Walk
Cuter than the Walking Cat.
People fear; not our gear.
Polar Bear; not our dear.
We can’t fly, we can’t fly,
We are not the flying birds.

The Bat (Age group 5-7)

I am a Bat
Bat life is antonyms
I can’t sleep in the night,
And I fly in the night.
Opening the eyes, I can see in the darkness.
Hanging from a tree,
Closing the eyes,
I don’t see the day;
And I sleep in the daytime.

The Eagle (Age group 5-8)

I am an Eagle.
Fly high in the sky.
I can fly fast and land like an aeroplane.
From high in the sky; I can see the birds.
I can’t nest in the smaller trees.
I can’t play with the hens and crows.
My prey is the little tree bird.
A little from the nested trees.
My talon carries the little;
To my nest in the lofty mountains.

The Parrot (Age group 5-7)

I am a Parrot.
My feathers are beautiful.
People love my beauty.
But caged me like a prisoner.
I can mimic human voice,
But I can’t sing like Nightingale.
Crows are free birds,
They can fly anywhere;
I can’t fly nowhere.

The Crow

I am a Crow.
My Sound is ‘Cra-Cra’.
I clean the gardens,
Daily like a house maid.
People throw stones at me,
For reasons unknown to me.
They feed the pigeons
Pigeons don’t do work.
Pigeons are white.
People feed the whites,
And throw stones at black.
